School safety is still our number one priority. Any and all threats are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly with the assistance of local authorities and our School Resource Officer. Anytime a threat is verified, the district will work with authorities to follow the law to ensure students are safe. In some instances, the release of this information is delayed to the public and only released to those individuals who are directly involved. In addition, the district is prohibited from discussing individual student disciplinary actions.
We will continue to make improvements to ensure that our school is as safe as possible including (but not limited to): Controlled access to the building and ensuring exterior doors are locked, continuing to install video cameras to monitor activities in our hallways and near our exit/entry points, training our staff on how to respond to emergencies such as a fire, severe weather, or a threat on campus, and practicing those responses throughout the school year.
